On Friday we worked in the gardens. We collected leaves for the compost and laid straw on the garden beds to keep them warm. It was fun!

Rawe Rāmere!!

Today we made apple pies from the left over apples. We also went to visit the gardens where we will be doing some mahi every Rāmere. We ate some lettuce leaves and learned about the worm farms. We are going to start saving our kai scraps to feed to the worms.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi.
Engari, he toa takitini.

My bravery and accomplishments are not that of my own,
but of many.

This week we have been learning about how we can receive support and gather strength from others in order to be successful.

Today we worked together in groups (mahi tahi) to make gingerbread men. Yum! They looked amazing. Some of us ate them straight away and some of us took them home to show our whanau.

Wā Whānau

Every Tuesday we have Wā Whānau (whanau time). This week the tuakana from Whānau Harakeke visited our class and taught us some pāngarau (we were learning to count backwards from 20).

In the afternoon we did Jump Jam followed by some team races on the field.
